Iwo Soczewka
Artist and maker working across earth, objects, image and performance.
My practice explores materiality, transformation, fragility and the relationship between human and more-than-human worlds.
My current research focuses on earth as both material and agent, and on the figure of the dung beetle as a humble, absurd and persistent companion to human existence.
Selected Works:
The practice

My practice developed through performance design, scenography and collaborative work, gradually moving towards a sustained investigation of matter, objects and the spaces they inhabit.
I work across different disciplines, often allowing the material itself to determine the direction of the work.

With VIDE TERRA
Alongside my independent artistic practice, I collaborate with Vide Terra, an interdisciplinary initiative dedicated to earth architecture, natural materials and experimental forms of building.
This collaboration provides a material and spatial laboratory for my ongoing research into earth.
